Nature Robots at the F&A Next 2023
CSO Sven Lake took part in the eighth edition of F&A Next, which this year was dedicated to the topic of “Adapting Consumption Within Planetary Boundaries”. The food and agricultural industry is facing major challenges: Reducing greenhouse gas emissions and food waste, limiting water consumption and soil depletion, and restoring biodiversity are critical to preserving our ecosystems and livelihoods - all while the global population grows. This year, F&A Next brought together over 750 participants who are actively addressing these challenges and working on innovative solutions.
Ensuring sufficient and healthy food for 10 billion people while keeping our ecosystem intact requires fundamentally new approaches to production and consumption. To accelerate change, partnerships and capital are needed to support breakthrough innovations and transform diets. Only through collective action can we achieve a sustainable food system.
The event featured many inspiring speakers, exciting panel discussions and, of course, the presentations of the 10 Next Heroes in Food & AgTech 2023. Specific topics included developing relationships between startups and investors, the introduction of alternative proteins, defining the carbon footprint in the food and agribusiness sector, biodiversity restoration, climate-smart agriculture, regenerative agricultural innovation, the role of artificial intelligence and the circular economy.
