InnoTRAC CAESAR: From Field Demos to Trials at a Tree-Nursery Customer

CAESAR only arrived at Nature Robots in July — and was fully autonomous within three weeks. By mid-August it was already out at field demonstrations in Dodow and Wittendörp, driving through orchard rows on its own and pulling a range of agricultural implements, while the Nature Robots and InnoTRAC teams answered visitors’ questions on site. On 21 August both teams were also at the Apfeltag, and a day later at the Zwischenahner Baumschultag in Bad Zwischenahn-Rostrup, where CSO Sven Lake talked with visitors about autonomous farm machinery.

CAESAR comes from InnoTRAC 2020 GmbH, a company founded in Saxony in 2020 by agricultural engineer Dr. Klaus Weidig, who designed combine harvesters back in East Germany. His goal: automate the repetitive, physically demanding work in fruit growing and field crops that many farms already struggle to staff. CAESAR is built as a universal implement carrier that takes standard three-point-hitch attachments from different manufacturers, so operations don’t need to replace their existing equipment to go autonomous.

The machine is now being tested intensively at a tree-nursery customer, with the goal of running fully autonomously from the start of next season.
